KQED Live joins Acción Latina to present two local Latinx musical acts centering women’s voices at Acción Latina’s backyard patio Encuentrito Sessions mini-concert series. The event is presented as part of Paseo Artístico – a collaborative effort among Calle 24 Latino Cultural District-affiliated cultural arts organizations that offers free arts programming every other second Saturday of the month.

This Filipina American-led music collective takes you on a lyrical journey with roots in soul, jazz, blues and improvisation. Free Press’ sound was largely developed in San Francisco, in the Western Addition and Tenderloin; specifically the Cadillac Hotel . The performance features vocals from Christie Aida, Dave Mihaly on percussion, Fernando Rodriguez on guitar and bass and Alex Spoto on violin.
